Fireside
This is a cabin where you light the fire. A cast-iron wood stove stands against the brick in the living room, and the king bedroom has a fireplace of its own, facing the bed. One guest called them her favourite thing about the whole stay.

We had a magical stay in Barrett Township! The house was perfectly curated with beautiful, tasteful decor. The setting was lovely, hidden in the woods. The fall leaves made it even more special. Our favorite thing was the fireplaces in the house; we really enjoyed them in the cool evenings.
Six private acres
The land is the point. A walking trail leaves from the cabin and winds down to the creek, bird feeders hang outside the big picture window, and there is a hammock, a fire pit and a grill for slow afternoons. You probably will not see many people out here.

Beautiful and peaceful home and surroundings! Private, plenty of outdoor walking trails. Lots of places to sit outdoors for tea, coffee or reading. Birds and local wildlife. Simple elegant interior decor with lots of books. Plenty of plants indoors and out. Very Hemingway in the best way possible.

Getting here
Within half a mile it is trees, quiet homes and the odd winding driveway: residential, not touristy, and very still. You will want a car, since groceries, restaurants and breweries are a short drive rather than a walk, but there is no traffic and parking at the house is easy.
